La Brexit ha portato con sé una grande incertezza per cittadini dell’Unione Europea che vivono nel Regno Unito. Dopo 5 anni di continua residenza in UK, un cittadino EEA/EU può fare domanda di Permanent Residence Card (Carta di soggiorno permanente) in UK. Per coloro che siano qui da meno di 5 anni, è possibile fare domanda per il Registration Certificate (Certificato di residenza).

Benché al momento non sia necessario, per i cittadini europei, richiedere questi documenti, il Governo Britannico ha chiarito che chi sia in possesso di Permanent Residence sarà agevolato al momento della richiesta del ‘settled status’, che tutti i cittadini europei nel Regno Unito dovranno avere in futuro, quando l’UK sarà ufficialmente fuori dall’Unione Europea.
