Il Signore degli Anelli – Sfide traduttive

Ho partecipato con molto interesse al webinar “Il Signore degli Anelli – Sfide traduttice nella Terra di Mezzo tra Prima, Seconda e Terza Era”, organizzato da Words In Progress.

Soraia Nassar, traduttrice e interprete laureatasi presso la Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici “Nelson Mandela” di Matera, ci ha parlato della sua tesi di laurea dedicata al capolavoro di Tolkien, spiegandoci le tecniche adottate per la nomenclatura presente in entrambe le traduzioni italiane – quella storica di Vittoria Alliata e quella recentissima di Ottavio Fatica – prendendo in considerazione le istruzioni fornite al riguardo dall’autore dell’opera originale.

New, fast and efficient delivery service for our clients!

At Baraka Certified Translations, we certify in-house, with our embossed seal, stamp and signature. Our prices are very competitive; the certified translation of the most common documents costs £30.00 only, since 2015!

For many years, we used to post our certified translations by 1st class (Royal Mail), free of charge. However, unfortunately we recently noticed some disruptions to service, mainly due to COVID related absences.

This is why we decided, from January 2022, that all our certified translations will be posted by Royal Mail 24H Special Delivery (for £8 to any UK post code).

If you still prefer to receive the translations by post, but you struggle to pay, at your request we can still post your translations by 1st class, free of charge. However, if you are choosing this option, please note that we will not have a tracking number, therefore we will be unable to track your envelope, and unfortunately, we cannot accept any responsibility if the envelope will be late, or worse – lost by the Royal Mail.

As for the international postage, we normally send the documents by DHL; please contact us for further information.

In some cases, the soft copy (pdf) of the certified translation will suffice, therefore the document will be sent by e-mail. Please contact us if you are unsure.

I am glad to announce that I recently became a Member of the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT).

NAJIT was founded in 1978 as a non-profit professional association dedicated to the mission of promoting quality services in the fields of interpreting and translation, particularly in courts.  Many persons who come before the courts are non- or limited-English speakers. The function of court interpreters and translators is to remove the language barrier, so that such person’s access to justice is the same as that of similarly-situated English speakers for whom no such barrier exist.
