BREXIT IS AROUND THE CORNER! Do you need a Certified Translation?

brexit poster jan 19.png

The UK is scheduled to leave the EU at 11pm UK time on Friday, 29 March 2019. A European court has ruled that the UK can decide to stop the process. Alternatively it can be extended if all 28 EU members agree, but at the moment all sides are focusing on that date as being the key one, with or without a deal.

If you’re an EU citizen, you and your family will be able to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living in the UK after 30 June 2021. Even if you have a Permanent Residence document, you must still apply for settled status. If your application is successful, you’ll get either settled or pre-settled status. You may refer to the Government website for eligibility criteria.

If you are granted settled status, you will be able to stay in the UK indefinitely (provided you don’t spend more than five consecutive years outside the UK). You may apply for British Citizenship, work in the UK, study in the UK, use the NHS, and access public welfare programmes. Family members may join you with a Family Visa.

All of these applications may require identity documents and proof of residency. You may need some combination of these documents, depending on your situation:

✓ Birth certificate
✓ Marriage certificate
✓ Passport / ID Card
✓ Bank statements
✓ Details of any criminal convictions, if applicable

Remember that when submitting documents to the Home Office or any other UK government institution, you will need to provide a certified translation of any documents that are not in English or Welsh.

At Baraka Certified Translations, we provide certified translation service every day for all type of legal and official documents.

Baraka’s certified translations are accepted by UK authorities, including the Home Office.

Hamza Roberto Piccardo

Hamza Roberto Piccardo
